Jess began her career with HLS as a paralegal before being promoted to Manager of Operations. In her current role, she supervises HLS attorneys, paralegals, interns, and administrative staff: setting their goals, assigning their work, and measuring their performance. She handles recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new employees, as well as routine HR matters such as scheduling and payroll. She offers strategic recommendations to the Director regarding firm policies, procedures, and projects, and provides information and support to clients as needed.
Before coming to HLS, Jess conducted health policy research and wrote articles on healthcare news for the Boston non-profit group Health Care for All, and researched Affordable Care Act implementation for the Massachusetts legislature’s Joint Committee on Health Care Financing.
