Attorney

Job Description and Tasks

Ideal candidates will be able to settle a high volume of claims using creative, innovative, and flexible argumentation. We will provide intensive training in writing, legal argumentation, and medical record analysis. From there, thinking outside the box is a must.

Candidate will manage an ample case load of corporate health claims. This involves filing written appeals through administrative appeals processes to resolve problematic (e.g., underpaid or denied) medical claims for payment with health, governmental, and corporate health payers.

Candidate will be required to perform the following duties:

  • Review large volumes of medical records.
  • Compose appeals with supporting medical documentation and file administrative appeals to payers.
  • Employ a professional, aggressive, and cordial telephone manner to effectuate fair and prompt claims payment to client hospitals.
  • Navigate through unfamiliar jurisdictions and processes in order to appeal and settle claims.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate and graduate degree with GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel with the ability to quickly learn and operate new computer programs and software.
  • Must be highly organized, aggressive, innovative, outgoing, goal-oriented, and a leader who can advise both clients and support staff including legal assistants and paralegals.

Paralegal

Job Description and Tasks

Candidate will assist with the filing of administrative appeals and documentation to health insurers and governmental payers. Candidate will have to work well with attorneys and paralegals, as well as maintain the workload, work under pressure and be a team player.

Candidates will be required to perform the following duties:

  • Review large volumes of medical records.
  • Create and submit well-written appeal letters quickly and efficiently.
  • Be skilled, aggressive, cordial, and professional on the telephone to follow up on submitted appeals.
  • Run computer programs specific to HLS’ processes to complete administrative tasks.
  • Perform light proofreading and type >60 wpm.

Basic Qualifications

  • Student or graduate with GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel with the ability to quickly learn and operate new computer programs and software.
  • Must be highly attentive to detail and be able to organize and keep track of large amounts of paperwork in a high-volume environment.
