Gabrielle represents healthcare facilities in resolving claim denials from Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurers. Her practice focuses on appealing denials for a range of services, from emergency room visits to inpatient care. Additional experience includes administrative appeals to Medicare Advantage plans challenging claim underpayments in amounts less than the federal Medicare rate.
Prior to attending law school and joining HLS, Gabrielle managed patients’ Medicaid accounts at an outpatient mental health office. During law school, Gabrielle interned at law firms and universities where she worked on a variety of health law and intellectual property matters. She was a Notes Editor on the William & Mary Journal of Race, Gender, and Social Justice, in which her student note on the absence of federal regulation over cosmetics was published in 2018. Gabrielle graduated with an intellectual property concentration and was the 2019 recipient of the William & Mary Award for Excellence in the Study of Intellectual Property Law.
